The Orien Group is a privately-owned medical supplies company, HQ and warehouse in Melbourne, founded in 2008. It grew from selling latex gloves to a full health and dental consumables distributor operating nationally, with both retail and eCommerce. Founded by Erdem Salih (MD).
The challenge
Starting with exam gloves for dental customers, complexity grew as product lines and overseas suppliers multiplied. The old QuickBooks system couldn’t handle foreign currency or landed costs (taxes, duties, wharfage). The team relied on endless spreadsheets that were slow to build, maintain and analyse, and worked with outdated data.
