The Olive Centre distributes over 2,500 product and equipment lines to local and international olive-growing communities. An early cloud-ERP adopter, it leveraged JCurve’s scalability to handle complex requirements in supplying technology and equipment to the olive industry.
The challenge
Before JCurve it ran five separate systems (MYOB, Filemaker Pro and others), making operations clunky, error-prone and time-consuming. Pain points: systems didn’t communicate, reliance on spreadsheets/local docs, duplicate data entry, no drop-shipping management, poor foreign-currency handling, lack of cross-department visibility, and inability to forecast seasonal demand.
The solution
Switched to JCurve (NetSuite’s small business edition) in 2009 for an affordable all-in-one cloud solution. The MD was deeply involved in setup to become a power user; the UI is intuitive and template-driven, with an on-screen help button and knowledge base. It later adopted JCurve’s managed accounting, payroll and systems-administration services.
The results
After nearly six years, it has a tailored all-in-one solution. Updating 2,500 product lines in the same system that runs the whole business delivers major efficiencies, with real-time cross-department visibility, reliable foreign-currency handling, drop-shipping management and seasonal forecasting. It grew without adding staff — ‘working smarter, not harder.’
